Jupiter in Aquarius
Expansive Jupiter enters humanitarian Aquarius on December 18th, 2020. This transit occurs once every 12 years and heralds in sweeping scientific, technological, and social change. Visions of a new future appear, and the spirit of rebellion blossoms. Jupiter, King of the Gods, brings us luck, good fortune, and idealism. He raises the collective consciousness and asks us to go beyond what is familiar. Aquarius, the water bearer, represents freedom and open-mindedness. Ruled by Uranus, the water bearer brings sudden change and divine inspiration.
When Jupiter is in Aquarius, there is a strong need to break free of limiting or restricting attitudes. Both Jupiter and Aquarius want us to look at the world in a different way, to break from the norm. Jupiter brings expansion and innovation of Aquarian-ruled science and technology. These energies ask us to experiment and take chances. Jupiter in Aquarius wants us to be proud of our eccentricities and utilize our gifts for the advancement of society.
The last time we had this configuration was January 5th, 2009 to January 18th, 2010. During that time we saw the creation of Bitcoin—a huge tech development—and the highly anticipated Microsoft 7 was released. In September of 2009, scientists announced that water had been discovered on the moon. In January of that year, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the first African American president of the United States. Voters rebelled against the status quo and opted for change. Jupiter and Aquarius together brought massive progress and innovation to our political system and scientific communities.
When Jupiter enters Aquarius this year, we are likely to see more technological advances.
In addition, unconventional ways of living and interacting with society will be on the rise. We may see more tiny homes and people living off the grid. During this time, we will experience a much greater sense of unity and a willingness to work together for the greater good. Jupiter in Aquarius raises the collective vibration and asks us to reach toward higher ideals for society as a whole. During this beautiful time, people will feel more connected and willing to help and uplift each other.
